6 Anime Like Leadale no Daichi nite (In the Land of Leadale) [Recommendations]
Leadale no Daichi nite (In the Land of Leadale) offers a slow, steady life filled with unsuspecting fun and adventures. It’s a slice of life, isekai anime that actually delivers what it promises. The anime follows the young Keina Kagami, who was mostly relying on life support to live. Her only escape and option to feel the freedom of being alive is by playing the VR game called Leadale. When her life support is eventually cut, she mysteriously finds herself in the world of Leadale. This time around, however, it’s no longer a game, and it’s already 200 years in the future. If you like watching In the Land of Leadale just like we do, here are six more anime that may fit your liking.

Despite being a 15-year-old young girl, Yuna completely detaches herself from the real world. The only thing she wants to do is play her favorite game. The game company notices her undeniable commitment to the game and grants her a special gift. They give her a special and cute bear suit with a special feature. Upon wearing the costume, Yuna gets transported into the game without any way out. Best of all, it has unimaginably cute but overpowered abilities, allowing her to do anything she pleases. Both being transported and trapped into their beloved games, both Keina and Yuna find themselves with peerless combat prowess. While they both enjoy taking life easy, they just can’t help getting themselves entangled in weird but fun situations. Both series’ protagonists take their time exploring and enjoying their new worlds as they slowly dominate them in their own cute little ways.

2. Overlord
As the servers of the game Yggdrasil closed, a player called Momonga decides to see his beloved game’s final moments. But just as the counter reaches zero, he surprisingly finds himself within the world of Yggdrasil. He can no longer log out, and he is forced to assume the role of his in-game character. Interestingly, the characters in the game are now sentient. Momonga quickly grasps his situation and decides to explore and hopefully conquer his new world – with the help of his quirky underlings, of course! Overlord is like In the Land of Leadale’s emo sibling. Its dark theme is a stark contrast to the latter’s chill and fun vibes, yet the similarities between the two are uncanny. Both series’ protagonists are trapped in the game they both loved playing. Not only that, they assumed the roles of their characters, who also incidentally possess great influence. While Keina is going about her adventures exploring the world, Momonga is out to conquer it. Interestingly, both of them have trusty aides. For Keina, those are her children. For Momonga, those are his subordinates.

3. Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita (I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level)
I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level! is a great anime for fans of relaxing in a fantasy world, which we presume is the main audience of In the Land of Leadale. This anime follows the story of Azusa, who started as an ordinary office worker. Just like In the Land of Leadale’s Keina, Azusa, unfortunately, meets her end and gets transported in a fantasy world as an immortal witch. Similar to Keina, Azusa just wants to enjoy a peaceful life in her new world. However – and probably as you have already guessed – her new world does not permit it. Her exploits quickly spread, and her fame skyrockets. Needless to say, trouble has started to find her since then.

4. Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu (How Not to Summon a Demon Lord)
Demon King Diablo is one of the best players in a game called Cross Reverie. He is often viewed with fear as he possessed extremely high-level and high-tier items. Contrary to his in-game character’s image, Takuma Sakamoto is the very definition of being a shut-in. He is quiet and reserved, and he prefers to keep things to himself. However, all of this changes when he gets summoned to a world similar to Cross Reverie. When his summoners, two beautiful girls, cast an enslavement spell on him, his passive ability “Reflect Magic” activated. He now has them both as his slaves. The glaring similarity between How Not to Summon a Demon Lord and In the Land of Leadale is the fact that both main characters are forced to live in a world similar to their beloved games. They are also immediately bound to other quirky and unique characters, though Keina’s are of her own doing. Nevertheless, they are in for an interesting time adventuring their new world mostly because of these characters.

5. Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko (By the Grace of the Gods)
Ryouma isn’t living the best of what life has to offer. Ironically, death actually offers him a way to start fresh. Ryouma gets reincarnated in a different world as a young boy blessed by three gods, as they wish for him to have it nice and easy this time around. That’s exactly what Ryouma does. He tames and breeds slimes for his first three years. He then eventually uses these creatures to help the people around him. Both Ryouma and Keina suffered from a sorrowful life, and both their deaths lead them to a miraculous new life. By the Grace of the Gods emits the same vibe as In the Land of Leadale. Both series are amazing slow-life escapism series with kindhearted main characters. Even though Ryouma and Keina have the ability to not be bothered with worldly problems, they still opt to help the people around them. Interestingly, that usually employs the use of monsters – slimes for Ryouma and summons for Keina.

6. Maou-sama, Retry! (Demon Lord, Retry!)
After a good 15-year run, the famous MMORPG titled GAME is coming to an end. Akira Oono, the creator and owner of the game, spectates the last seconds of his creation. But when midnight strikes and the game is about to go dark, Akira realizes an odd phenomenon. He is no longer in his original world. He has been transported into Infinity Game as the demon lord Hakuto Kunai. Similar to Keina, Akira is transported to the game very close to his heart. It just so happen that the said game is of his own creation. He also explores the world just like Keina did, and he meets a variety of denizens of that world. Being the demon lord, Akira is often regarded in a bad way. He eventually proves himself and expands his social circle. Similarly, Keina also experiences a similar treatment. But rather than feared, Keina is often underestimated, causing a series of comedic reactions.
