Anime That a Capricorn World Watch [Updated Recommendations]
Capricorn, one of the more unique zodiac signs. Those who fall under the Capricorn sign—December 22nd to January 20th—are what we consider the powerful zodiac sign holders. Strong-willed, ready to grab life by the horns, and rarely ready to throw in the towel, Capricorn are tough individuals with a penance for proving life is theirs to take control of. Plus, Capricorns are honest folks who want things now because they speak their mind and don’t waste time. Finding anime that Capricorns would love was a difficult task before—see our original list below—but with so many new anime out there, we dug deep and think we found some anime perfect for those born under the Capricorn umbrella!
5. Beastars
Capricorns are very special individuals who aren’t afraid to show who they are even if what you perceive them to be is something quite different. That’s why the animal-themed series Beastars is a perfect fit for Caps out there. Characters like Legoshi and Haru might appear to be one way but, inside, there are traits that often burst out when the right situation arises. Like most Capricorns, Beastars examines what it means to deal with life despite challenges like bullying for being different and dealing with internal strife that might make one seem strange to many. Capricorns always have our respect as they don’t take crap from anyone and, like the oddities in Beastars, they don’t sit down and cry when pushed to the floor.
4. Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku)
As we get older—something that none of us can escape, sadly—it can become hard balancing life with our love for anime. Even here at Honey’s Anime, we sometimes struggle to find that balance showing our otaku-selves to the world but also remaining professional and “normal”. That’s why we dig Capricorns, they aren’t afraid to strut their stuff and show what they like/dislike regardless of their company. Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku is thus the perfect romance/comedy anime for our Caps out there. The several otaku warriors in Wotakoi are constantly working hard but also continue to show they love all things anime, manga, and video games. Remember this, ladies and gentlemen: Even if you aren’t a Capricorn, don’t ever be afraid to show your love for all things otaku even as you get older! Remember your Capricorn friends/loved ones. Would they stop loving what makes them live? No, they wouldn’t!

3. Tokyo Revengers
Capricorns don’t like needless information, they dive deep into a story or situation and prefer to just enjoy the event regardless of whether it makes sense or not. That’s why we think Tokyo Revengers is a good fit for those Capricorn out there. Almost entirely based on the theme of never giving up despite the odds, Tokyo Revengers also has a time travel concept that never is fully explained. Perfect for Capricorns, we doubt they would care about why our main boy Takemichi is able to travel through time via a handshake. All they would care about would be that they are like Takemichi and/or Mikey, tough and unrelenting…maybe more like Mikey as we don’t hear Capricorns crying like our cry baby hero Takemichi.
2. Jujutsu Kaisen
Many perceive Capricorns as perfect because of their nature. Unlike most, Caps tend to hold themselves to such a high standard that they come off not as arrogant or rude but as strong and capable…even when they sometimes lack the skills they are trying to show off. Jujutsu Kaisen’s main lead Yuuji Itadori and his fellow jujutsu sorcerers aren’t always the strongest—unless they are Gojou Satoru—and will face overwhelmingly poor odds more often than not. However, like our Caps in the real world, that doesn’t stop them from taking the challenge, biting the bullet, and holding themselves up proudly with a “never give up” attitude. Jujutsu Kaisen is the perfect shounen series for Capricorns as these characters are all very similar to Caps.
1. Great Pretender
In our opinion, the perfect anime for those of the Capricorn sign is Great Pretender. Great Pretender focuses on several souls who use their charm, wit, beauty, ambition, and drive to make big swindles happen. We aren’t saying Capricorns are swindlers—though they would be perfect for it with their usual high-level charisma and charm—but, like the characters in Great Pretender, Caps are no strangers to putting themselves out there and making the world see perfection. We dare you to try out Great Pretender and see if you can spot a character that resembles a Capricorn in your life. We doubt it will take longer than a few minutes…

Astrology is a system that can be really interesting to look into and come to understand. Those who are interested cite its ability to make one reflect more on themselves and their interactions with the world around them; a world they believe is interconnected. So we did some digging into some of the Zodiac signs and decided to get working on the anime each sign would enjoy, based on some of the more common ideas of what each sign may be into! This time around, we’re bringing recommendations to the 10th sign of the Zodiac, the all-knowing, ever-ambitious and ever-stubborn Capricorn!
1. Aoi Bungaku Series (Blue Literature)
This consists of a series of adaptations of six modern Japanese literature classics: Dazai Osamu’s No Longer Human and Run, Melos!; Natsume Souseki’s Kokoro; Akutagawa Ryuunosuke’s Hell Screen and The Spider’s Thread, as well as Sakaguchi Ango’s In the Forest, Under Cherries in Full Bloom. Naturally, these stories do not flow together to form a consistent narrative but rather, the series is a retelling of some of the most celebrated works in the early-to-mid 20th century. Being the intense wells of knowledge that they are, Capricorns tend to be well-read, well-studied clusters of intense cynicism. The literary works depicted in the Aoi Bungaku series hence reflect a sense of cynicism and overall gloom that probably spills over from the lives of the authors themselves, particularly Dazai Osamu. Cynicism aside, the way in which the stories put together feature realistic elements as well as elements of absurdism, an aspect that reflects the Capricorn’s paradox of aloofness amongst a sea of closed-off emotions.
2. C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control
Second-year Economics student Yoga Kimimaro understands the power of money all too well. Being in the midst of his silver-spoon peers, Kimimaro works hard to make ends meet. However, his life changes forever when a strange man in a top hat arrives at his door late one night. Introducing himself as Masakaki, the man tells Kimimaro about a place called the Eastern Financial District, a place where people place their futures as collateral in order to achieve immense wealth. It turns out that the Financial District is an alternate realm where participants have to engage in “Deals”, putting their collateral at stake. As Earth signs, Capricorns are very much connected to the material world and know how it works almost innately. Which brings us to their love of money and their high ambition which makes them one of the overachievers of the Zodiac. C is the type of anime that brings these elements together into one intense show. The sobering realities presented in some of the latter episodes are definitely a Capricorn’s cup of tea.
3. Serial Experiments Lain
Iwakura Lain is an awkward fourteen-year-old. She is one of many girls at her school to receive a strange email from their classmate Yomoda Chisa – a girl who had recently committed suicide. Lain is technologically awkward and can barely handle basic technology; however, upon opening the email, Lain is transported to The Wired; a virtual world similar to the internet. Her life is changed forever as she starts experiencing cryptic mysterious and strange men called the Men in Black show up everywhere she goes, asking her questions while seeming to know more about her than she does. Serial Experiments Lain is convoluted, confusing at times and thus the perfect anime for a Capricorn because it challenges them to think more than many other anime would. The way in which Lain herself seems to be closed off, maybe even detached or stoic is very similar to how the average Capricorn is thought to carry themselves, and with the series playing with concepts of reality, Capricorns and their understanding of the material world will feel instantly attracted to this show.
4. Nana Maru San Batsu (7O3X/Fastest Finger First)
Koshiyama Shiki is a first-year high schooler at Buzou High School who on his first day at school, suddenly finds himself approached by the Quiz Study Group, a school club involved in all things quiz related! The shy bookworm spends all his time reading rather than socialising, which prompts him to sign up to be one of the two librarians in his class. Shiki’s frail physical constitution makes him ill-suited to sports clubs, but his lack of interest in the more cultural societies at the school makes it hard for him to choose a club. However, he finds himself up on stage during the Quiz Club’s presentation at assembly and does something amazing! Is the Quiz Study Group Shiki’s chance to finally have a balanced school life? An entire anime based on the idea of epic displays of one’s general knowledge with some light-hearted humour? Count the Capricorns in! As we mentioned before, Capricorns tend to be people who know a lot and really love to show it. Absolutely love showing off their knowledge in subjects vast and wide. They love it. Did we mention that they love it? They enjoy it to the point of being condescending know-it-alls!
5. Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai (Bunny Girl Senpai)
Puberty Syndrome is a mythological condition which seems to only affect teenagers, causing inexplicable supernatural symptoms that are often dismissed as legitimate occurrences. However, Azusagawa Sakura knows from experience that it is real and is quite prevalent at his high school. Sakurajima Mai is a third-year high schooler who gained fame as a child actress but halted her promising career for unknown reasons. She is known throughout the school and bears an air of unapproachability, so nobody interacts with her. That is at least until Sakuta sees her wandering the public library in a bunny girl costume. No one seems to notice her despite the conspicuous outfit and after talking to her, Sakuta realises that she is another victim of Puberty Syndrome. As Sakuta tries to help Mai through her situation, he comes into contact with more girls who are experiencing the condition. Featuring a deadpan protagonist and supernatural setting, Bunny Girl Senpai is one recent show that would definitely entertain the quintessential Capricorn. The biggest selling point for them is the extremely sarcastic, deadpan Sakuta, a protagonist they’d find both entertaining and maybe a little bit like them! The relationships between characters are also the type to warm the heart and sometimes, a Capricorn needs to thaw out their icy cores.
Final Thoughts
While many of the sentiments in this article have been someone tongue-in-cheek, the very Capricorn author thought it would best reflect a Capricorn’s insight into what they tend to enjoy. That being said, some may disagree - maybe we aren’t totally cold and unfeeling with a funny side. Are there other shows you think Capricorns would like? Drop a comment below, with your suggestions!
