A new year dawns, and with it comes a flurry of debut manga series to start reading! In 2022, there’s never been a better time for yuri readers, as LGBT+ content is quickly becoming more commonplace in manga. If you’re looking out for new titles to pick up this year (we know we are!), then join us today as we look at our Top 5 new yuri manga in 2022!

    5. Ichido dake demo, Koukai Shitemasu. (I Can’t Believe I Slept With You!)

Starting our list of new yuri manga is I Can’t Believe I Slept With You!, known in Japanese by the more somber title Ichido dake demo, Koukai Shitemasu (Even If It Was Just Once, I Regret It). It stars a twenty-four-year-old who has recently lost her job and fallen well behind in rent (and life in general). To help remedy her debt situation, she receives an unusual proposition from her landlady – a one-night stand?! The premise of a one-night stand to get on top of rental debt is both hilarious and all-too-real for every millennial…not that we recommend that strategy, of course! The Japanese release of I Can’t Believe I Slept With You! is complete with three volumes, so we can expect a relatively quick – but no less painful – resolution to the romantic tension.

    4. (Succubus ja nai mon!) I Am Not a Succubus!

How does a yuri harem of sexy monster girls sound?! For Sakura – a first-year student at a monster girl academy – it’s a dangerous situation, especially since she’s pretending to be a succubus! Her classmates are all sorts of hot and heavy monsters, including harpies, lamias, and cyclops, who all believe her bold lie…how will she survive the school year without her secret coming out? Honestly, the premise alone is hilarious enough to get us interested in Succubus ja nai mon! (I Am Not a Succubus!). Having to pretend to be a succubus will definitely invite all sorts of misunderstandings, and our poor main character Sakura sounds like she’s in for a complicated (and smutty) first year! If you’re looking for a yuri fanservice manga, keep an eye out for I Am Not a Succubus! early this year.

    3. Shiro to Kuro: Black & White (Black and White: Tough Love at the Office)

We here at Honey’s Anime do not condone workplace violence, but we must admit that Black and White sounds brilliant all around. Two professional women working in a high-level bank have a love-hate relationship that ends in either violent scuffles in the office or something a bit more steamy. They’ll have to put aside their differences and work together to uncover a sinister conspiracy unfolding in their company… From the hot and cold dynamics to the conspiracy-unraveling, Black and White has a whole lot of unique circumstances that make it stand out! Office romance is a blossoming genre in recent years, and Black and White is taking the genre to a whole new level with a hate-to-love relationship mixed with fraudulent crimes. We’re expecting a hilarious mixture of slap-stick comedy and violent passion when Black and White hits the shelves!

    2. Watashi no Kobushi wo Uketomete! (Catch These Hands!)

    [sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" bookwalker_id="" cdj_product_id="NEOBK-2262479" text="" url="" ]
    [en][information_general item1 = "Mangaka" content1="murata" item2="Genres" content2="Comedy, Romance, Shoujo Ai, Yuri, Seinen, Slice of Life" item3 = "Volumes" content3="1+" item4="Published" content4="March 2022" post_id="" ][/en]
    [es][information_general item1 = "Mangaka" content1="___content1___" item2="Género" content2="___content2___" item3 = "Volúmenes" content3="___content3___" item4="Publicado" content4="___content4___" post_id="" ][/es]

Here comes a love story about two former delinquents, now adults, each trying to escape their high school years – and finding that the past can have a more powerful grip than you expect. Takebe, a former high school no-gooder, runs into her old rival, Soramori…and the two decide to throw down! After losing, Takebe takes her punishment – she has to start dating Soramori?! Adults struggle with relationships just as much as high schoolers, and Watashi no Kobushi wo Uketomete! (Catch These Hands!) has the right makings for a poignant and enjoyable read. The reluctant-relationship trope is always a great starting point for two characters to eventually realize their true feelings, so we hope these two brawlers will eventually choose love over war!

    1. Futari wa Daitai Konna Kanji (The Two of Them Are Pretty Much Like This)

    [sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" bookwalker_id="" cdj_product_id="NEOBK-2510804" text="" url="" ]
    [en][information_general item1 = "Mangaka" content1="Ikeda Takashi" item2="Genres" content2="Comedy, Romance, Slice of Life, Yuri" item3 = "Volumes" content3="1+" item4="Published" content4="April 2022" post_id="" ][/en]
    [es][information_general item1 = "Mangaka" content1="___content1___" item2="Género" content2="___content2___" item3 = "Volúmenes" content3="___content3___" item4="Publicado" content4="___content4___" post_id="" ][/es]

Age-gap relationships are always entertaining and can often provide a source of dramatic tension, but Futari wa Daitai Konna Kanji (The Two of Them Are Pretty Much Like This) isn’t trying to wreck your heart. It stars thirty-year-old Eri, and twenty-year-old Wako – a professional writer and voice actor, respectively – who are happily in love and comfortably living together. This series is entirely a yuri slice-of-life, stripping away the drama the genre is usually known for and instead offering a soothing life story. This is almost like an extended epilogue: where most series end after the “big kiss moment”, The Two of Them Are Pretty Much Like This takes place after the relationship has formed and settled. With such a gentle and romantic premise, we’re really looking forward to seeing Eri and Wako’s life together later this year.
