If you are looking for a traditional action or horror vampire story, The Vampire Dies in No Time may not be for you. If you are looking for a light-hearted fantasy comedy filled to the brim with outrageous moments and silly characters including a geeky vampire lord and a novel-writing vampire hunter, this anime could be for you. Read on to find out about the plot and the good and bad parts of The Vampire Dies in No Time.

    Plot

The Vampire Dies in No Time opens as Vampire Hunter Ronaldo goes to a vampire castle to find a kid who has been reportedly kidnapped. He expects to encounter a highly dangerous vampire, but instead, he only meets Draluc, a vampire lord who happens to turn into a pile of sand upon being “harmed” by anything. In reality, the kid isn’t being held against his will. The rowdy boy is just using the castle as his stomping grounds, playing Draluc’s video games and coasting around the castle on his scooter. While attempting to catch the kid to return to his mother, Ronaldo and Draluc cause the destruction of Draluc’s castle. Without a home to live in anymore, Draluc invites himself to live with Ronaldo and becomes his assistant in vampire hunting.

    Non-Stop Comedy

Each episode of The Vampire Dies in No Time is filled to the brim with jokes and hilarious scenes. You get Draluc unexpectedly dying at the slightest touch. You get Ronaldo and Draluc jokingly fighting. You get Ronaldo fleeing from his editor, who comes to his house to fetch his manuscript that is scheduled to be completed on that day. If a situation could possibly be made comedic, this anime will do it. This includes the encounters with the villains. The first job Ronaldo and Draluc go on does not include a real vampire, but instead a guy attempting to become one to romance a girl who does not like him back. The second villain is a vampire wearing nothing but a cape. He casts magic in the form of magical vines that grow from his groin. As you can see, the villains of this anime are written to make you laugh instead of scaring you. There isn’t much actual action or combat in this anime unless it’s played for laughs. This may be a positive if you are looking for a purely funny anime to laugh along with, but if you are looking for a more traditional vampire story that will thrill you, you may be disappointed.

    The Cast

Ronaldo and Draluc, the vampire hunter and vampire protagonists of The Vampire Dies in No Time respectively, are hilarious together. Out of necessity, they live and work together but they don’t necessarily get along and often get into silly fights. The side characters are unique and only add to the enjoyment of this anime. One character that has charmed the fans is John, a small armadillo that is kept as a pet by Draluc. Despite being an animal that can’t talk, he has a lot of personality and is just plain adorable. There is one negative to the characters, though, which is that while being tons of fun to watch, most of them lack deep backgrounds or motives. One could argue that the anime spends so much time squeezing in jokes that there isn’t enough time to develop each character. This could be disappointing to fans that expect a little more depth to the characters.

The Vampire Dies in No Time is a unique anime that churns out outrageous comedy. It’ll make you laugh if you’re looking for something to pass the time, but for fans that are looking for a more traditional vampire story or fans that expect a deeper, more complicated plot and character development, this anime might be a disappointment. We recommend you give this anime a try if it sounds like it suits your tastes. Have you already watched it? Give us a comment with your thoughts!
