    Manga Creator of Berserk, Kentaro Miura Dies at Age 54

    Kentaro Miura, a manga creator famous for " Berserk ", died at the age of 54 on May 6 due to aortic dissection, according to publisher Hakusensha.

    • On its official website, editors of Hakusensha announced that they "would like to express utmost respect and gratitude for Mr Miura's work and pray for him to rest in pease from the bottom of heart." They also reported that his family has already held his funeral.
    • His death shocked fans worldwide, not just because of his great work but the huge influence that it had on many other entertainment works, including "Final Fantasy XIV".
    • Mr Miura's masterpiece "Berserk" first started serializing in 1989, and since then, it has been serialized until today. It is set in a dark fantasy world inspired by medieval Europe, where the character uses swords and magic. More than 40 million copies of the "Berserk" manga were sold and was adapted to TV animation series from 1997 to 1998 and to the trilogy of animated films released from 2012 to 2013. The second TV anime adaptation was made in 2016.
