How SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon Connect

SSSS.Dynazenon has only released a few episodes so far but we here at Honey’s Anime are already quickly trying to find out how this series connects to SSSS.Gridman. If you’re a fan of the original Gridman live-action series—or the SuperHuman Samurai Syber Squad series—which is the American adaptation of Gridman—then you’ve no doubt been wondering the same thing as us. Luckily, we are die-hard fans of both versions of Gridman and the anime so we’ve already begun to piece together some obvious clues and have begun to theory craft about the show as well. Let’s talk a little about how SSSS.Gridman connects with SSSS.Dynazenon!

Fact: Two of the Main Robots are in the Original Series

One of the earliest signs of how both SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon connect is that the main robots shown so far, appear in Gridman as robotic allies. Dyna Rex as it's called in SSSS.Dynazenon is basically Dyna Dragon from Gridman. The same can be said of the God Zenon machine which also is an assist robot from the original live-action show. Unfortunately, this doesn’t yet explain how SSSS.Gridman didn’t make use of these powerful allies but we have some theories on that!

Theory 1:This Isn’t the Real World Like SSSS.Gridman

As discovered in SSSS.Gridman, the world Yuta Hibiki and his friends lived in was actually within a computer mainframe. This is evident when the once antagonist of the show—Akane Shinjo—reawakens not in an anime world but in the real world. SSSS.Dynazenon is also an anime so if SSSS.Gridman was based in a fictional reality then that also explains why we have gone from live-action to anime again.

Fact: Kaiju Exist Once Again

Regardless of which version you’ve seen of Gridman, the one element all series share with one another is kaiju. These gigantic monster-like beings are summoned by a powerful entity in some form to devastate computers and the systems within. Whenever they destroy something in the computer realm, the real world is affected and Gridman usually needs to come in and defeat the kaiju to restore the systems they affected. We have yet to fully learn how kaiju are affecting the world of SSSS.Dynazenon but the fact they are here at all means this show has a lot of connections with the world of Gridman.

Theory 2: Gridman Will Appear at One Point

We have an entire new cast in SSSS.Dynazenon and that has made some fans of SSSS.Gridman worried the original Gridman Alliance won’t make an appearance. In our minds, though, this is just another team in the computer world and while Hibiki might not appear, we will bet Gridman makes an appearance to help these new robot warriors! If Gridman doesn’t appear we would understand—as he might be busy saving a different part of cyberspace—but that would disappoint us SSSS.Gridman fans immensely.

SSSS.Dynazenon has a lot of secrets lying in wait and we no doubt will find even more of them as the series opens up! How it relates fully to SSSS.Gridman—and the other live-action shows—won’t be understood for possibly a while longer but that excites us as we continue theory-crafting!
