Everybody knows of the Brotherhood. In fact, most of us have become part of it, and more than once! Heh, pretty amazing, right? Yes, we’re talking about Assassin’s Creed, the cool game that makes us kill lots of people the cool way. In the game, we assume the role of an assassin sent back in different ages. Our goal? Kill and wreak havoc. That cool game now has a manga adaptation. Without further ado, let’s get into it right away.

    Discussion Time

As the title suggests, the story follows Shao Jun, a member of the Brotherhood. Well, at least part of the story does. During the present day, Shao Jun’s descendant is supposedly suffering from aggressiveness inherited from her. More so, her supposed treatment requires her to relive Shao Jun’s life. That’s how we get the front seat to China’s last assassin’s life.

    1. Assassin’s Creed Fans Rejoice

To those who have played the Asassin’s Creed franchise and manga fans, this series is such a treat. It’s one thing to play it in console, and it’s another to sit back and see the story unfold on its own. It’s just like when one of our favorite manga/anime (ehem, One Piece) gets a game. Actually, it can be argued that this series is created entirely because of the Assassin’s Creed Fandom. Hey, we’re grateful for that.

    2. Slick Action Scenes

Another one of Assassin’s Creed’s selling points is it’s slick action scenes. We mean, using blades and daggers to kill people can’t possibly dull. What’s more is that we’re doing it while doing stealthy stuff! This series also banked on that. It made sure to include the stealthy details, as well as the hidden blades. Yes, there are scenes showing that nasty shoe blade. Also, the manga didn’t bother hiding people getting pierced and throats getting cut open.

Why You Should Skip Assassin’s Creed: Blade of Shao Jun

    1. Not So Solid Story

As we said, this series is probably written for the fans. That is both its upside and downside. If you haven’t heard or played Assassin’s Creed before stumbling upon this manga, then you’ll probably want to think twice before deciding on picking this up. Although it can be pretty amazing for fans, others may find the story a bit lackluster and mediocre. There is a story going on, but it feels like the plot is forced to stick together rather than flowing smoothly. No matter what the story is about, that’s never a good sign.

    Final Thoughts

As fans of the game, this series excites us more than anything else. Well, at least for a few moments. Anyway, we’re sure other Assassin’s Creed fans would enjoy acquiring a copy and reading the series. After all, nobody can get enough of that stealthy killing action, right? What’s more, it’s also kind of nice to just let the story go on autopilot. It kind of gets tiring to be the one controlling the main character sometimes, you know.
