At this point, there is little to no one who hasn’t heard of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and we do agree that it’s well deserved. From the intriguing concept to the fine execution, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime hooked us from the beginning. As Rimuru continues his journey, we get to see how he develops Tempest, the city of monsters. Watching his thoughts and realizations unfold is truly interesting, but it can sometimes overshadow the other aspects of the story, which we would also love to see in the spotlight. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Trinity in Tempest (Manga) follows the story of Phos, a lycanthrope, Stella, a dragon worshipper, and Nemu, a harpy. Phos, the lycanthrope, is the leader of the three and kind of the main heroine. She’s been sent by Lord Cairron to spy and see what the ruckus in Tempest is all about. Her mission is to simply mingle and gather information. Along the way, however, she meets Stella and Nemu. Stella is Milim’s follower and aims to serve her better. Nemu, on the other hand, is also sent by Lord Frey to also spy on Tempest. With all of their ignorance and exploration combined, hilarity ensues.
1. Casual Look at Tempest
As what the trio aims, we are given a tour around Tempest. This time, however, we don’t see inner thoughts about what and how to improve certain aspects of the village. We’re just casually strolling around town, sightseeing, and learning how the villagers go about their day. We get to see the orcs going about their business building roads. Also, we get to watch the security lead by Gobuta. We also see Shion making clothes, Rimuru going about, and the other cast in their non-fighting selves. Everyone is just chilling like every day is a lazy day.
2. Adding the Slice of Life Tag to That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
As we’ve stated above, this series is very chill. There’s no fighting. Well, there is, but very minimal. Even though the trio’s mission is to gather information, we just see them enjoying everything Tempest has to offer all the while giving us a tour around town. If you’re like us who have thought, “Ah, it’d be nice to see Tempest on its usual busy day.” then we’re glad to announce that this manga is the answer to that wish.

It’s already in the title, but just in case you haven’t figured it out yet, Rimuru will only have little screen time on this series. We’re not complaining, but if you’re the kind that has been captivated by our adorable slime protagonist, then don’t get your hopes too high up. On another note, Rimuru sure did maximize his screen time. Every time he is shown, he is either doing something cool or impressive. Be it showing how important of a person (read: slime) he is or showing his amazing culinary skill.
Final Thoughts
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime isn’t a heavy read per se. However, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Trinity in Tempest (Manga) has taken the chillness of life in Tempest to another level. We’re only reminded that we’re still reading isekai due to how Rimuru’s Earthly knowledge is blatantly shown to our faces. Still, it’s more of a tour around Tempest more than anything else, and for us, that’s a good thing!
