So Many Girls! So Little Time! Top 5 Anime Swimsuit Scenes for Men [Updated Recommendations]
It’s still summer in Japan, and what better way to enjoy the searing hot weather than to talk about girls in swimsuits! Men like us admire women more in their bikini because it lets us appreciate the fine curves of a girl with little getting in the way. Also, the type of swimwear a girl wears is often a reflection of that girl’s personality—the color of the fabric tells the girl’s attitude towards the people around her, for example. But enough talking, let’s jump right into the updated Top 5 Swimsuit Scenes for Men by Honey’s Anime!
5. Vividred Operation — Episode 6
Akane, Aoi, Wakaba, Himawari, and the rest of the class go to the beach and help clean the area. But of course, everyone is allowed to wear swimsuits! However, the real reason for this field trip is that Professor Isshiki wants to draw out the potential of the girls using teamwork and devises a plan by luring the girls to an island and beating every obstacle by working together. While the anime does provide ample fanservice to the very dedicated bloomers fans, Vividred Operation didn’t forget the average fan wanting to appreciate the girls’ outstanding physique with little getting in the way, and episode 6 delivers with Akane, Aoi, Wakaba, Himawari, and Rei wearing swimsuits that match their personalities—Akane wears the traditional school swimsuit, Aoi wears a blue two-piece with some very modest frills, Wakaba wears a sporty green two-piece that is more designed for functionality, and Himawari’s yellow two-piece with extra frills intensifies her sex appeal. What about the mysterious Rei? She’s a natural seductress and her all-black bikini is nothing short of delicious with a more v-shaped bottom, showing off her well-sculpted butt cheeks.
4. Highschool of the Dead OVA — Drifters of the Dead
Takashi and the gang head towards an island in hopes of escaping from the undead once and for all. Upon arriving on the deserted island, a new problem arises: they have no food. Takashi and Kouta go off to find food or otherwise they can’t eat and appreciate the lovely ladies who spent the time wearing their lovely swimsuits. A beach episode isn’t needed in Highschool of the Dead because, aside from the show being filled with fanservice, there is the bath scene in episode 6—if there’s no beach episode, there’s always the onsen or bath episodes. Unlike episode 6, Drifters of the Dead is a full-blown fanservice OVA and the anime wastes no time giving us eager gentlemen what we want—Rei, Saya, Saeko, Shizuka, and even Alice in their swimwear. What’s curious, though, is that Rei is rather conservative with her choice of swimwear by wearing hot pants. Normally she’d wear something more daring to win over Takashi. Is Rei hiding something?

3. IS: Infinite Stratos (Infinite Stratos) — Episode 9
Ichika and Charlotte are heading to town to buy some swimwear for their upcoming beach class. Cecilia, Lingyin and Laura follow the two around because they don’t like the idea that their love rival is taking the lead in winning Ichika’s affection. Episode 9 is exclusively a beach episode featuring almost every girl in the searing heat wearing bikinis. Not every girl gets the same treatment, but at the very least the main girls get the best scenes like Cecilia asking Ichika to apply suntan lotion on her body, Linying spending her time alone with Ichika, Charlotte holding hands with Ichika and show off her swimwear, and Laura flushing red because of her revealing bikini and Ichika calling her cute. And let’s not forget the ladies of Infinite Stratos—Chifuyu and Maya, with bodies that will seduce both male and female. Say what you will about the story of Infinite Stratos, the beach episode is one of the best the anime has to offer.
2. Choujigen
Neptune, Noire, Vert, Blanc, Plutie and Nepgear travel to R-18 Island to have some fu—er, rather, to check up on suspicious activity that may be a danger to Gamindustri. R-18 Island is a beach resort for adults only, but the girls can enter no problem in their goddesses forms. Not sure about Plutie and Blanc can enter, though… They don’t have the… assets... As Neptune exclaimed, episode 8 is dedicated to the Neptunia fanboys and it delivers. We are treated to not one, not two, but 3 sets of swimsuits from the main goddesses and Nepgear. First the girls are in their goddess form wearing very sexy swimsuits in order to pass the island’s age check. Once inside the island proper, the girls revert back to their normal forms, wearing another set of swimsuits that matches their personality. And lastly, on the nudist beach, they briefly wear light grass to cover their nether regions. The cherry on top is, there is some Nepgear teasing courtesy of Vert. And lastly, the little sisters also get to wear in their swimsuits during their stay in Planeptune, so Uni, Rom, and Ram fans need not worry.
1. Hajimete no Gal (My First Girlfriend is a Gal)
It’s summer and the obvious destination is the beach! Junichi, his 3 perverted friends, Yukana, Ranko, Nene, and Yui are enjoying their time on the hot sand and the wonderful view of the girls wearing their bikini and just forget about school and have fun. Episode 8 is a fanservice double-whammy with a beach scene in the first half and a hot springs scene in the second half. For the beach part of the episode, we finally get to see the girls, especially Yukana, in her pink bikini that matches her gal (gyaru) lifestyle—lipstick, bracelets, and some, er, “accessories” in between her bikini and nether regions. Yukana is certainly going for style over practicality. Ranko, Nene, and Yui fans will also rejoice for they also wear bikinis that match their personality,… especially Nene: she is clearly a titty monster wearing a bikini that is probably too small for her.
Final Thoughts

If you haven’t already, go check it out and you might find something else to watch this summer. So what do you think? Are there any lovely swimsuit episodes you would like to share with us and everyone? Please hit that comment section below! And who knows, we might do another one!
Men, my brethren, fellow otaku, if ecchi resides in your kokoro, there is only one time during an anime’s season you can truly say you’re alive! That’s right, the swimsuit episode! To the objection of everyone, the sometimes shamelessly tasteless thrown-in swimsuit episode has captured the imaginations of all who survive to witness it. Even shows that had barely a hint of ecchi, somehow have a random swimsuit scene thrust in, or the fans can glimpse it by purchasing the discs. Whatever your fancy, the swimsuit episode exists, and probably will until the seas run dry. Of course, as cultured men, not all swimsuit scenes are created equal. Here are our top 10 best recommendations for Swimsuit Scenes for men. ( ͡° ͜Ê– ͡°)
10. Outbreak Company
- Episodes: 12
- Air Date: Oct. 2013 - Dec. 2013
Number 10 on our list comes from the hilarious ecchi parody anime Outbreak Company. High School dropout Shinichi Kanou has fallen on hard times. He confessed to his childhood friend, who coldly and utterly rejected him, and holed up in his room ever since. Afterwards, he found himself looking for work, and oddly enough, found it by working for the Japanese Government. However, they don’t intend for him to work from home, in Japan, or even on Earth. He’s been hired as something of an evangelist for all things “moe” in order to introduce Japanese culture to a parallel world. Outbreak Company has Shinchi introducing all sorts of fantasy world inhabitants to the finer points of popular anime. The show also uses tropes itself, and in episode 9, the classic swimsuit episode surfaces. “I believe I was born just for this day!” - Shinichi Kanou. In the episode, he instructs half elf Myucel and dog person Elbia on the finer points of how to have fun in a “mizugi” (swimsuit). Accompanied by his handler and well endowed JSDF member Koganuma-san, he enjoys the day to his utmost. The girls are so attractive, they’ve also caught the eye of some stalkers who seem to be doing a little more than observing the girls. The episode is decently ecchi, but above all, hilarious. Loli character, the empress Petralka, has a whole segment devoted to her inner circle of politicians as they decide which swimsuit would suit her “peculiar” build. I can tell you for a fact I’ve never personally laughed harder at a swimsuit episode in my life. These elders try to brown nose and scheme their way into her good graces without insulting her “budding” figure. In the end, the “school mizugi” always wins!
9. Trinity Seven
- Episodes: 12
- Air Date: Oct. 2014 - Dec. 2014
Trinity Seven is the harem anime with arguably the most bad ass main characters in the genre. Kasuga Arata will get caught in bed with two girls by a tsundere and tell her to get in too. He’s a savage. The show usually has a liberal amount of ecchi, so a swimsuit episode came in early at episode 3. After being diagnosed as the root cause of a breakdown phenomenon happening at his school, his mana went out of control and he kind of...destroyed it. The headmaster, of course, had a back up plan: send all the students to the beach while reconstructing it with magic! While Arata’s memories are a bit hazy from the day in question, he and his self-proclaimed wife Arin are cooking on the grill. Ever since he enrolled, he’s had his eye on his guardian and teacher Lilith, and in her swimsuit she is especially captivating. Ninja Levi has her eyes on her bust as well, and in her curiosity, begins to grope her, voraciously. Of course, before Arata can get too excited, Lilith snaps, and the jig is up.
8. Chivalry of a Failed Knight (Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry)
- Episodes: 12
- Air Date: Oct. 2015 - Dec. 2015
Chivalry of a Failed Knight tells the story of Kurogane Ikki and Stella Vermillion. The two of them are both children of prestigious houses, yet they both have completely different upbringings. Ikki has been treated as a disgrace and plague by his family, while Stella is a princess and crown jewel of their school. Through a series of events, they find themselves roommates and at odds. However, after he defeats her, under her own conditions of their duel, she becomes his indentured servant for life. Oh the ecchi possibilities! In episode 3, Ikki attempts to bathe after a day of training. However, Stella, in all her kawaii tsundere-ness, wants to get closer to him. Completely bathing naked is out of the question for her, so she dons a skimpy swimsuit to hide her embarrassment… Well, it doesn’t really work. The two are so close, and the water and soap hides the fact that her top has become undone. Having his back washed by Stella, Ikki slowly realizes that the texture of her chest pressing on his back has changed. Seeing the top on the bathroom floor confirms the fact, and the scene drastically changes to a red faced, ecchi filled, slap fest.
7. Bikini Warriors
- Episodes: 12
- Air Date: Jul. 2015 - Sept. 2015
With a name like Bikini Warriors, you can surmise that there would, in fact, be bikinis in the show. A multitude, actually, as the main cast wear what in general would be considered skimpy clothing. However, there is a distinction! Battle armor is not all created equal. Though in episode 3, the bikini warriors do in fact don bikinis, giving us our hallowed swimsuit episode. After the four girls find themselves at a point in their adventure where they are devoid of cash, they grow restless. In their desperation, they even contemplate selling their own bodies (to Paladin’s own pleasure). In the end, the time-old tradition of stealing works for them, although the girls definitely don’t see it as such. With their influx of ill-gotten cash, they hit a luxurious hotel, and find themselves poolside. It’s all fun and games until the towns folk show up, strip the girls, and leave them in a dark forest. Oh the humanity!
6. Hundred
- Episodes: 12
- Air Date: Apr. 2016 - Jun. 2016
In Hundred, mankind is living in fear from destructive alien beasts called the Savage. The only method known to fight them are genetically gifted warriors who use tools known as Hundreds. Kisaragi Hayato is one such warrior, and has the most aptitude for fighting them due to his superior genes. After proving himself a superpowered bad ass at his new school, he gets assigned as a bodyguard to a popular idol. However, before he begins his duties, the tsundere student council president wants to have a word with him, of course, by the pool. Under the pretense of a mission briefing, top student and Hayato’s leader Claire Harvey beckons him to her private pool. She is relaxing, having one of the student council members rub suntan oil on her back. Her top removed, laying flat on the chair is impossible, as her ample bust is anything but hidden from Hayato’s sight. Upon standing, she flaunts herself, believing that she is in fact wearing her swimsuit, but is completely exposed. In her embarrassment, she hides, to her vice president Liddy’s displeasure. The other girl rushes to her aid in punishing Hayato for the bountiful sight he just witnessed, but in an ecchi moment, further entangles herself with him. In Claire’s hope of getting some benefit for herself, she asks Hayato to wear a speedo, but he escapes, leaving her disappointed.
5. Maken-Ki! Two
- Episodes: 10
- Air Date: Jan. 2014 - Mar. 2014
Having a hot teacher is many boys’ dream, and even better when it’s the full-bodied school nurse. Under the pretense of avoiding another marriage interview, Aki-sensei tricks her mother into believing that main character Ooyama Takeru is her boyfriend. Her mother, in an attempt to get the two closer, drugs them both and handcuffs them on her private island. As expected, the experience of one of the school’s perverts and the bustiest woman at school being shackled together isn’t without its ecchi moments. As it comes time for the two to bathe, of course, teacher and student entering naked together poses a problem. However, Aki-sensei wears a skimpy swimsuit in order to keep things comfortable between them. This does nothing to dull the effect on Takeru, who quickly begins to grow restless being next to such a beauty. He blushes, sweats, and finally passes out from a typical nosebleed. Everything has its price, so to speak!
4. Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend .flat - Fan Service of Love and Pure heart (Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata ♭: Koi to Junjou no Service-kai)
- Episodes: 1
- Air Date: Apr. 2017
As the title states, this prequel episode to Saekano S2 is all about fan service. It is literally the swimsuit episode, and to prove it, every character is donning their underwater-only mobile armor. At first, main character Tomoya Aki is doing his best to ignore the girls’ change in clothing, going as far as to blind himself with a blindfold. It doesn’t work, as the girls quickly disarm him and rob him of his innocence. Woe is this sad otaku! Thinking he’s safe idly sitting by the pool, he in fact has let his eye lose track of his cousin Michiru. She, having roughhoused with him since they were children, has no qualms about skinship. Attacking him from below, she grabs him, drags him underwater, and for all intents and purposes, has her way with him, completely. After she has been removed from him, he is still not safe. Now, Kasumigaoka Utaha has her sights set on his unconscious body! She slowly looms over him, in her stealthy attempt to steal a march over the other girls by resuscitating him, mouth to mouth. The episode is completely full of over-the-top fan service shots, and if that is all you want from the series, then this episode will totally suffice.
3. High School DxD New
- Episodes: 12
- Air Date: Jul. 2013 - Sept. 2013
Set immediately after Hyoudo Issei defeated his would-be love rival Riser Phoenix and rescued Rias Gremory from her arranged marriage, High School DxD New ramps the ecchi up to even higher levels. In episode 8, Issei and the paranormal research club are cleaning the pool for the student council, with the express condition that they will use it for recreation once they’ve finished. Of course, the chance to see his favorite ladies in their best swimsuits stimulates Issei’s imagination, being the embodiment of lust that he is. Their debut does not disappoint. In an attempt to appeal to Issei, Rias asks him to rub sun oil on her, and even her chest if he so wishes. In a counter move, Akeno removes her top and attacks Issei from behind, clinging to him. This bold step forward does not go unchecked, as Rias will not stand for it. The two of them are now topless and competing, violently, over who has the right to be spoiled by Issei at the pool. A more beautiful scene the red dragon emperor definitely could not wish for!
2. Motto To LOVE-Ru
- Episodes: 12
- Air Date: Oct. 2010 - Dec. 2010
The God of Fall, Yuki Rito, has had his sights on Sairenji Haruna long before his “powers” surfaced and he became the the person of interest to the Deviluke royal family. With everyone going on a trip to the pool, Rito tries to plot his way to express his love for her, unsuccessful as it has been. Before he can, Momo Deviluke once again appears before him, but before she can sink her claws into him, she herself is attacked from behind! A large tentacle slime appears in the pool, wrapping up everyone in its path. To anyone who has seen a To LOVE-Ru series, ecchi and borderline hentai is the name of the game. Wearing a swimsuit is actually rather modest most of the time, as clothing is always optional, and most often disregarded. As the slime sets its sights on Rito’s would-be lover, he has to shift into action to save her, as the audience can do nothing but watch.
1. Valkyrie Drive Mermaid
- Episodes: 12
- Air Date: Oct. 2015 - Dec. 2015
The world of Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid is a confusing yet arousing one. The show is set on an island where beautiful young women are afflicted by a mysterious disease which turns them into all-powerful super weapons when presented with lesbianism. Leave it to Japan to come up with something this outlandish, especially with the twist the series takes in episode 5. Minimi Nimi is a girl whose power is going out of control. She is huge, in every sense of the word. Looking as if she would be more at home in Attack on Titan, she is traipsing about the island looking for her friend and liberator Oya Noe. The others who exist outside of the council come to her aid, and to the best of their abilities create a bikini for her out of, most likely, circus tents. It isn’t long before the girls find themselves on the beach, and the cast uses the colossal Minimi as a sort of waterpark attraction. It is without a doubt the most over-the-top ecchi episode I have ever seen, and I thought Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid couldn’t top what it had shown previously. Shows how much I know!
