    • Maybe some of you who read this may not have been born when this device was released, but for those that were around during Nintendo's hey-day in the 90s you'll surely recognize the Super Game Boy! This awesome peripheral released globally June 14th and allowed Game Boy cartrides to be played directly from the Super Nintendo, which at the time was mind blowing for Game Boy owners.
    • It was the first of its kind, allowing Game Boy owners to take all of their favorite titles and play them with much sharper colors, without any need for crazy wires or capture cards like we now use in today's world. You could play original Game Boy titles, along with Game Boy Camera and dual mode Game Boy Color cartridges. As things became more sophisticated, games that were optimized for the Super Game Boy added additional color information, graphical borders, along with background sprites such as Mario's Picross.
    • In total, the Super Game Boy allowed for a total of 64 colors to be displayed for the border, and 12 colors for the screen. Furthermore, since a lot of these games took advantage of the SNES hardware it allowed a lot of games to have expanded sound, and even allow the use of SNES controllers to play such as in Killer Instinct! The Super Game Boy was truly innovative at the time and cemented Nintendo as the pioneer when it came to pushing the envelope in terms of gaming development! What are some of your memories surrounding the Super Game Boy? Let us know!
