- There are some moments in anime, much like the real world, that aren't memorable because of their romantic and loving tales of heroism, but also due to the darker undertones that resonate for various reasons. In Legend of Galactic Heroes, one particular moment known as the "bloody night" happened on this day May 14th in 2689. To keep things short and sweet, everything started with the Sirius Invasion which continued to build hostility between the United Earth Government and its Colony Worlds, which ultimately led to the war between Earth and Sirius.
- General Crayambo was the sole leader behind this massacre, as his forces invaded the city of Laglane with hopes to wipe out the population. The citizens formed vigilante groups to try and repel the influx of soldiers but to no avail. Crayambo only had one mission in mind and that was to root and out eliminate any Ant-Earth Movement terrorists likely to be hiding in the city. Many citizens had their precious jewels taken due to the UEG soldiers, even going as far as to removing them from the mouths of the elderly and butchering as they see fit. Women had their ears and fingers removed so that more jewelry could be obtained for the UEG.
- Fast forward to 10 hours later and the city of Laglane was painted a crimson red, with more than 900,000 civilians killed and 15,000,000 credits of property were stolen. The UEG would continue on their bloody endevours by suppressing the citizens of Rondolina following the events of Laglane...
- We know, not the most heartwarming of moments but definitely a noteworthy one as it clearly demonstrates the evil intent of the human construct when greed and power become the main focus.

This anime did well in spite of the graphic nature." image="honey-thinking2"]
